Hippie Hallow
Looking for a unique experience to rest and relax? Perhaps Hippie Hallow is the place for you. The Park lies in the basin area of Lake Travis and Hill County in central Texas. It is roughly 1.5 hours away from downtown Austin and features a rocky shoreline, awesome views of Lake Travis, nature trails, and has a long tradition of being the only clothing-optional public park in Texas. Because of the clothing-optional status, guests must be 18 years and older and consumption of alcohol is prohibited at all times. The park stresses to visitors that nudity is acceptable while visiting, but lewd behavior is not. Also note that there are no lifeguards on duty at the park, so swimming is at your own risk. Hamilton Pool Preserve
The Hamilton Pool Preserve, located at 24300 Hamilton Pool Road, in Dripping Springs, Texas, is a historic swimming hole inside of Travis County. The swimming hole is an incredibly popular swimming spot for locals and visitors during warm weather, so much so that there are times when guests will be turned away due to over-crowding of the area. There are times in the height of the summer heat that a waiting times can creep up to an hour to enter the park. If the preserve reached this limit, they will turn away vehicles for the day an ask patrons to return at another time. The strict adherence to limitations is done both for crowd control and to protect the nature habitat on which the pool sits. The park is open each day until 5:30 pm. The cost for entering the park is $15 per vehicle. Entrance fees can be paid with cash and local checks. Note: the hike to the pool is a quarter of a mile from the parking lot and there is some rocky and steep terrain. The park may close if there are extreme weather conditions. It is advisable to call ahead if conditions are questionable.
